Glory in the Lord

1 Corinthians 1:19-31

Notes

“That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 1:31

You will eventually find your identity in what you glory in. We are called to glory in the Lord! Paul is addressing division in the church of Corinth. The church in Corinth had fallen into cliques based on the leaders they identified with. Some were “of Paul”, some “of Apollos”, some “of Cephas”, and some “of Christ”. Their division went against the unity that Christ died to accomplish. In verses 18-31, encourages them to stand in the wisdom of God instead of the wisdom of the world. By understanding God’s method of winning the lost, who we were before Christ, and who we are in Christ, we learn to glory in the Lord.
